CDMC FIELD TRIPS
- FIELD TRIPS
- SUGGESTED EQUIPMENT
The CDCM Club hosts field trips throughout the summer and fall to many collecting sites in New York and other nearby New England states.
Our club membership in the Eastern Federation of Mineralogical and Lapidary Societies, Inc. (EFMLS) includes group insurance for our trips. In many cases, insurance alone is a determining factor with a private land owner or mine/quarry operator in allowing the club to collect on their property.
Recent trips have included:
- The LaFarge Quarry – Ravena, NY
- Barris Ledge – MA
- Area mines, localities – Gouverneur, NY
- Mohawk River – NY
- Quarry site – Old Batcherville, NY
- Railroad cut site – Minerva, NY
- Various sites – Minerva and Newcomb, NY
- Tahawus, NY
- Natural Stone Bridge & Caves – Pottersville, NY
- Adirondack Labradorite locality
- Gold site – Stowe, VT
- Various sites – Walworth, NY
